If the One Big Beautiful Bill (Republicans’ name for their budget) is signed into law by Trump, the enhanced ACA tax credits put into place by Biden Administration and Congress go away, and:
average family health insurance premiums will increase by more than 75%,
four million more people will lose coverage,
most of those will be younger healthier people, whose insurance premiums subsidize older and sicker folks, and
red states that didn’t expand Medicaid will be hit especially hard.
2.2 million people in Florida and 1.7 million in Texas are expected to lose health coverage.
Two weeks ago President Donald Trump promised - for the umpteenth time - he wouldn’t cut Medicaid…
From KFF:
Nearly half (45%) of the people who get their health coverage in the ACA Marketplaces and the individual market—about 10 million Americans—are MAGA supporters or non-MAGA Republicans
Graph illustrates Trump vote by Congressional Districts broken into deciles.
