How the Iran War "ends"
Badly.
Trump will announce a “very successful deal” that benefits Iran far more than the one he rejected before the War.
He will then pivot to endlessly “truthing” about his ballroom and the”Arch de Trump”, and that’s the last we’ll hear from the White House on the debacle in the Mideast.
He will also trumpet (no pun intended) how his “deal” is far better than the Obama Administration’s that (the one that prevented Iran from working on nukes for at least 15 years).
Historical aside - Note that Trump blew up Obama’s JCPOA (arms control agreement) in his first administration…after which Iran re-started its nuclear weapons program.
Meanwhile, the Iranians will:
keep their uranium,
not agree to international monitoring of nuclear weapons development except on the most favorable conditions
continue to exercise control over the Strait of Hormuz, and
the hardest-of-hard-liners now in control of Iran will gain even more power.
Why?
Iran’s leaders hold all those cards Trump keeps talking about:
they DO NOT CARE how many Iranians are killed by US attacks
they DO NOT CARE how much more damage US attacks would do
they control the Strait of Hormuz and therefore can hammer the world’s economy and there’s not a damn thing we or anyone else can do about that short of putting thousands of troops on the ground to fight a brutal and bloody land war
they know Trump is hyper-concerned about the polls, his plummeting approval rating, and the upcoming midterm elections.
Ignore all the recent back and forth and focus on who has leverage. We have very little, the Iranian Hard-Liners have a lot.
What does this mean for you?
Once again, idiots in Washington got us into an unwinnable war for no good reason, one that has cost thousands of lives an billions and billions of your tax dollars while destroying America’s image in the world.
The damage these idiots have done and are doing is beyond comprehension.

Excellent Joe, really great piece! 100% agree
Well done.
